What to expect

If you want to buy a laptop for using common software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe CS5, Windows Movie Maker etc., browsing internet, email correspondence, video chatting, or for mobile or web application development, you need not spend any more than $350 on it. Most $350 laptops in the market are capable of running these software programs without any problem. These laptops are capable of running old Windows-based games such as NFS MW 2005, or the DOS games you loved playing when you were a kid. However, even a decade old game such as NFS MW 2005 may put extra pressure on these laptops resulting in increased processor fan speed and heat accumulation inside the laptop. In other words, these laptops are not suitable for playing graphic intensive games (even the old ones). The laptops priced at or under $350 most commonly feature Intel Celeron, Pentium, or Core-i3 processors, or equivalent AMD processors.
